Tamiya 1/24 Celica LB Turbo Gr.5

The Tamiya Toyota Celica LB Turbo Gr.5 is a re-issue of a kit first sold in 1978 as a motorised model, now returning with new Cartograf decals, an updated instruction manual and fresh packaging.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.

The Toyota Celica LB Turbo was a Group 5 car developed for the 1977 DRM (German Racing Championship). Based on the road-going Celica Liftback, it featured aerodynamic components such as bulging over-fenders and a rear wing, and made extensive use of FRP body panels. Power came from an extensively modified body and a 2,090cc, 560hp inline-four DOHC turbo engine. The car made its debut in July 1977 and, in October of the same year, beat the Porsche 935 to claim its maiden victory.
